April Fool’s Day or Easter Sunday? Whatever, let’s live la vie Parisienne at the Bassin de la Villette

In between packing the luggage and buying some “pasalubong” for my travel to the Philippines was an invitation to go out and enjoy the sun. My friend who had a ski accident would never let her injuries control her social life and wanted to have some drinks.  So, why not? Carpe Diem, right?

The initial plan was at Bastille. Then it was moved to Place St. Michel. And finally, it was my 50% filled suitcase which weighed in on the decision to go to the Bassin de la Villette at the 19e arrondissement which is so near to us. I was thinking that I still have some packing to do.

No regrets. It’s always fun there. I love bodies of water. They always give me tranquility. Well, I am an archipelagic girl so figuring out the “why” is not rocket science. Aside from that, there are also plenty of cafes and an MK2 cinema at each bank of the bassin. If you wanna top-up the fun, you can rent those license-free electric boats and cruise the canal. It’s fun “driving” those small boats actually. We did that last year. We had lunch on the boat.

After taking some pictures for souvenirs, we decided to have some Piña Colada at Café Corso situated at the Quai de Seine.
